Pour the Hayman’s Sloe gin, pomegranate juice, lemon juice, sugar syrup and Double Dutch Cranberry & Ginger tonic water into a shaker and shake for 15 seconds. Add ice and shake again for 30 seconds until the shaker feels cold. Add a pinch of Maldon Salt to bring out the sweetness, and strain into a glass. Garnish with a rosemary sprig and some pomegranate seeds.
Pour 35ml Hayman’s Sloe Gin and 15ml Aperol into a glass with ice. Top up with blood orange soda and give it a quick stir. Garnish with a dehydrated orange wheel and a sprig of rosemary.
If you have visited Hayman’s on a Drinks at the Distillery experience you might have tried this delicious cocktail. Now… you can try making it at home with the recipe below.
A classic Sloe Gin has a perfect balance of sweet and sharp notes, all underpinned by a deep plum fruitiness. To enhance these sweet fruity notes, add a couple of fresh blackberries or cherries for a true English seasonal garnish.
Garnish with a twist of lemon peel and blackberries
For the true taste
While it requires some extra effort, home-squeezed grapefruit will retain the fruit’s natural sweetness without the bitter edge that can dominate shop-bought juice. Use pink grapefruit for a slightly sweeter finish, and white grapefruit for a touch of natural bitterness.
