The original company of Hayman Distillers was founded in the 1800s by James Burrough, the great Grandfather of the current Chairman, Christopher Hayman. James Burrough created the world renowned Beefeater Gin. Although Beefeater Gin and James Burrough Limited were sold to Whitbread in 1987, the Hayman family retained part of the business and continued the tradition of distilling and blending Gin and other white spirits.

Christopher Hayman has over 35 years experience in the drinks trade having joined James Burrough Limited in 1969. He held the position of Operations Director for almost 15 years where he controlled the distillation and production of Beefeater Gin.

A specialist in Gin, Christopher is one of the most experienced ‘Gin Masters’.

Christopher is an active member of the UK spirit trade and has held a number of senior positions including:

• Chairman of the UK Gin and Vodka Association – 1996 to 1998.
• Master of the Worshipful Company of Distillers – 2004 to 2005.

Christopher is today joined in the family business by his children – Miranda and James.
