Go "Back to School" with Ginema

“The secret, I don’t know… I guess you’ve just gotta find something you love to do and then… do it for the rest of your life. For me, it’s going to Rushmore.”

Max Fischer, "Rushmore"

For us, it’s celebrating True English Gin. What better way to do it than by opening the doors of the Home of English Gin to cinema and gin lovers alike as we turn our distillery into a pop-up cinema once more, for a second series of our ‘Ginema’ screenings? Back by popular demand, this time we’ve given our long weekend of classic films and cocktails inspired by the on-screen antics a ‘Back to School’ theme, to see out the hottest English summer on recent record in a wave of nostalgic style.

So whether you were teacher’s pet or class clown, join us from Friday 7th – Monday 10th September and relive the supposed ‘best years of your life’ by watching some of cinema’s most famous – or infamous – students going back to school, so that you don’t have to. Breathe a sigh of relief that you never have to endure another Saturday spent in detention like the gang of "The Breakfast Club"; relive that school holiday summer romance with Danny and Sandy, empathise with Max Fischer’s all-consuming crush on his new teacher, or bunk off your Monday evening responsibilities a la Ferris Bueller and watch him enjoy the ultimate sick day…

Welcome G&Ts will be poured at 7pm and the screenings will start at 7.30pm. Some gin-themed gifts will be waiting on your beanbag chair for when the screening begins, including London Dry Gin popcorn and a £5 off voucher for our distillery tours. We’ll serve up two cocktails during the course of the screening, so don’t worry, you won’t go thirsty.

Tickets to our series of ‘Back to School’ Ginema screenings cost £40 and are bookable through our tours page. The line-up is:

Friday 7th September – "The Breakfast Club"

Saturday 8th September – "Grease"

Sunday 9th September – "Rushmore"

Monday 10th September – "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"

“Summer days, driftin’ away, to uh-oh those summer nights…”

Sandy and Danny, “Grease”
